Jim and Lisa Dowd are well known for their charitable works. Both have played an intricate role in Dottie’s House fundraising efforts and are well respected members of the community. Lisa Dowd has been an active Board Member of Dottie’s House and Friends of Dottie’s House since 2007. Jim Dowd was the second New Jersey high school hockey player to make it to the NHL wherein he aided in the NJ Devils’ 1995 Stanley Cup Championship and played for 10 different teams over the course of 17 NHL years. He is the founder of Jim Dowd’s Shoot for the Stars Foundation which has raised thousands of dollars for local families in need. Now it is our turn to recognize Mr. and Mrs. Dowd for all of their hard work and dedication.

Friends of Dottie's House is the fundraising corporation for Dottie's House, a long-term transitional housing facility for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Throughout the year, staff and board members work hard to initiate and plan various events throughout Ocean County to support the services that Dottie's House provides to these deserving families.

Homes Now Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation that provides affordable housing and services to municipalities throughout New Jersey.

Dottie's House is a transitional housing facility designed to aid women and children who have survived domestic violence.
